Hey readers,
I hope you're having a wonderful day.
Just like the title says, I will be taking about the plans I made for this year.
Like I have said in a previous blog, I will work as I travel.
I have been planning this gap year for the past 4 years, researching about places I want to see, where I can work, budgeting and planning how long I want to stay in each country for.
One thing I found very easy to do this year, was programs where you can work and sight see, at a cheeper price then planning it on your own, like Camp Leaders, Adventure Oz, Smaller Earth and others.
throughout planning and budgeting , I narrowed a lot of my countries and programs down because lets face it, I'm not rich and I only have a year until Uni.
So I decided to came to Portugal so I could spend time with my family and work at the same time, that way I would continue saving up money. I was also meant o have a small holiday in Spain and in Paris, but then I found out that Portugal had a lot of different rules compared to England, Which honestly I should of research earlier.
I'm stay in Portugal until January, then go to Switzerland were I would be staying with my untie for a few days, then go to Rome on a small holiday with my boyfriend and then start the Smaller Earth Program.
In the Smaller Earth program I'm going to be matched with a Family located in Spain , Malaga, and Im going to work as an au pair and earn pocket money. The longer you want to work in Spain the more you have to pay for the program, but you will also get paid more weekly. The only thing is not included are the flights, Travel Insurance and the Police background check (£60). But the flights are really cheap if you buy them ahead time and for me travel insurance wasn't an issue because I had to get it anyway if I am travelling this long.
After working in Spain, I will be working with Camp Leaders, which is a program that hires people that are passionate about travelling and working with young people in the camp. They are located in America. Everything was included is this program, placement, flights, accommodation, meals, SVisa assistance and sponsorship, medical insurance and 30 days travel after camp and the pocket money you will get is amazing. The program is very friendly and amazing.
I am not sponsored to say any of this, they are just amazing programs and I'm excited to work with them.
After Camp Leaders, I'm back to England.
And thats all the info for now and I will keep updating :).
