Off Travelling America- July Review

Hey readers, Tomorrow I am going to spread my wings, leave camp and go off travelling. I honestly cannot believe the time is here to say goodbye.

If I haven't mentioned before I want to come back next because this camp was one of the best things that happen in my life, I learn, taught, cried, laughed, sang, danced, I sweated and showered a lot! I am happy to say I wasn't the only counsellor that felt this way, everyone learnt so much and made a change in kids hearts and they made a change in ours. We started to appreciate things more and not take them for granted.  Now we are all going off into our own paths and I am so excited for everyone and I cannot wait to go home and apply what I've learnt throughout this gap year, but I also can't wait to come back next year and work at camp again.  Working at camp was very busy and somethings it would take a lot of your energy, but I am glad to say all the staff did amazingly and everyone gave each other a relax and easy-going environment. On to my travels, my budget changed a lot and there were a few changes I had to make in order for the money to last.

To save some money on budget, me and my new camp friends, organised a trip to St Louis and Chicago first, but due to cheap plane tickets, I will only stay there for a day each and then fly to New Orleans where I will stay in a hostel and stay there for 3 nights. Then I'll fly to Orlando where I will meet with some other friends from Camp who went to Disneyworld and Universal Studious. Unfortunately, because of my budget, I had to cut those attractions off, but it's okay as there are other things to do. I will stay in Orlando in an Airbnb for a week and then as a group we will travel to Miami for 3 night at an Airbnb and then fly to Washington and stay in a hostel for 4 nights, then travel by bus to Philadelphia where I will stay with a friend that I actually met in Madrid and I will stay there until the day of my flight where I will wake up super early and get the bus to New York because that's where I have to catch my flight. I would love to stay in New York longer but like I said, I have to work around my budget, and there's always next year. I only started to purchase my bus tickets, hostels, plane tickets and Airbnb’s, in the past month as I was planning it with friends and working around my budget. I bought the cheap things, like hostels and bus tickets first, and left Airbnb’s and flights for last but next year I will buy plane tickets and Airbnb’s early and leave buses and hostels last. The reason I say hostels and buses last is because busses are really cheap using Megabus company and can be bought within a month. With hostels I looked through a website called Hostel World and they let you reserve your room/bed for a minimum price and you only pay in when you get to the hostel, and this came in handy because I had more cash in hand and I didn't want to pay everything by card because that cost me more because of the currency that charged me a fee for using my card and that was what I wasn't thinking a lot about (Well now I know).

Overall the past month was another great one and this is going in a good path too. Like I said I'm really excited for the upcoming travels and coming back next year but I also cannot wait to get home and start Uni and work again.

For this month I just expect a lot of travelling, pictures and waste more money, unfortunately, but I know everything will be alright. Although I'm excited about travelling I am also a bit scared because I am leaving camp, it's like leaving home, the fear of insecurity but we just have to be strong in prayer and call if anything happens.
