Hey readers,

We live in a world where we’re constantly on the move, and sometimes we forget to slow down and take a break from life and a enjoy a season where we are able to be intentional with our time.

Having a gap year is a chance to rest, grow, experience, travel, figure out life while having fun and making new memories.

If you interested in having a gap year and travel, here are some questions to ask yourself when you are planning your amazing year.

WHERE?

Write down the countries you want to go to, if you could go and do anything.

A mind map is away for you to spread your ideas and later on we will narrow them down once you go through budgets and timeline.

Think about what that country offers you and cities you want to go to. Also think about safety, is it a safe country to go on your own, or better with friends/ company.

Where are you planning to stay? Hotel? hostel? Couch surfing? family ? friends?

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?

What countries you want to work/volunteer or just want to visit? search about what documents do you need if you want to work or just visit or both.

What kind of job are you looking for? Whats the distance from your accommodation?

If it's a paying Job, how much will they pay you? Is it enough to get you by?

BUDGET

How much do you have saved? or how long do you have to save up until you travel? How many luggages are you taking with you ?

Think about flight/train/bus costs, accommodation.

If you are doing a program what is included and what isn't? Do you have to pay for a visa or travel insurance?

If you are just visiting, what activities are you going to be doing? Are they free to take part?

Track how much you need and what is the average you are going to spend?

Who's taking you to the airport? how are you going to get there?

WHAT TO PACK?

Think about how long you going for? What season is it?

If you are coming back home every few months, keep a box with your inessential clothes ready for you to grab, both for warm and cold weather, that way when you come back you can access that box easily.

Are you planning on buying more clothes when you abroad?

Make a list on what you are taking with you, that way each time you packing you know whats missing.

I hope this helps with planning your gap year or short break. This is the time for you to think about you.
