Hey readers,
When I first started to plan my gap year, I looked for programs where you could travel and work at the same time. There were a lot of programs out there, but most of them were quite pricey, and not much was included and others I didn't trust but lately some new programs caught my attention that are very safe and are trust worthy companies.
I went on a search and I fell in love with these amazing opportunities, which I cannot wait to work and visit the future. If your looking for a summer job, or a small break were you can travel, earn experience and gain some pocket money, I fell like these 5 programs are worth to consider.
1. WORK & TRAVEL IN AUSTRALIA

I always wanted to go to Australia and this was originally one of the programs I was going to attend until I realised the program that I was looking at lasted 1 whole year. The program offers you the chance to work and earn while you travel and gain experience. It is a great program and it's through Smaller Earth which gives it extra security and reassurance. The program has 3 arrival cities, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns. They all offer different accommodations and sceneries. The program is from £329 but then you need to pay for the flights, work holiday visa and insurance (which you can easily do through Smaller earth). This is a great program and for more info go to https://www.smallerearth.com/uk/australia/work-travel-australia/.
However another program that is amazing is Absolute Oz, which is also located in Australia. You can do this program up to 12 months, which is great if you don't wanna stay for a full year. What is really great about this program is that it offers you a variety of opinions. The first week is all about meting new people, having fun, bond, and party a little bit. Then you have the option to start working soon as possible or pick the Surf Adventure program which is a 5 day surf camp, but you can also have the Surf adventure along with working but that also costs more. You get a lot of support on this program and they make sure you find a great job that you are happy with. You can also pick your accommodation, you can be on your own or share a house/apartments with your new mates. This program is from £599 but depends what do you want included in the program.
Personally Absolute Oz is in my bucket list as a holiday, as I prefer to do the 8/9 day adventure, simply because I will start uni after this gap year and I prefer save up money and have a holiday. This way I can keep a balanced between work, uni and enjoy my life.

2. SUMMER CAMP IN CANADA

If you've heard of summer camp in America, this program is just like it but in Canada. It's from 8 to 10 weeks. You get free food and accommodation at camp, airport transfers, 2 nights hostel stay once you arrive, 10 weeks comprehensive health insurance and 24/7 in-country support included. Unlike America, the application process is faster and easier, as it doesn't require you to go through the visa process. The program is only £399 and you will earn the minimum of $1500 CAN in pocket money, which is great. I always like the flights to be included as it would be easier for me but this program has a flight team that can help with that. Medical, criminal background check are not included as well the Electronic Travel Authorisation fee but that on it's own is $7.
I went through this kind of applications before, so for me its quite straight forward, specially if you do it through smaller earth. I definitely see my self on this program in a future and its a great opportunity to meet new people, taking a break and have fun.

3- ADVENTURE CHINA

Okay! This is definitely one of the programs I most excited about.
Adventure in China is an 8 week program, where you can work as a camp counsellor and travel up to 90 days after camp. I think this a very cool adventure where you get to teach and be part of these children life's. You have two locations, Qingdao and Inner Mongolia. This programs gives you an amazing support with everything and they help you step by step. You don't need any qualification just be passionate and energetic. The program costs £399 which includes, Visa, return flights, online resources that help you prepare for your adventure, food and accommodation and you will also get between $200-$500 USD. The more I read about this program the more I just wanna go. I know I just started my gap year and I wanna go everywhere but I don't want to treat this gap year like I will never travel again, but the beginning of new adventures.

4. BEST OF THAILAND

Going to Thailand is also in my bucket list of the countries I want to visit. It's such a beautiful place and it's perfect for a summer holiday.
Unlike the others I mention, you don't earn any pocket money on this program, this is more of a holiday.
The best of Thailand is 10 day guided tour! It's full of amazing activities and adventures. You will get experience the energy of Bangkok, the breathtaking beauty of Khao Sok National Park, the tropical island paradise of Koh Phi Phi and hit up Koh Phangan the home of the famous Full Moon Party.
You will also be travelling in a group with experienced guides. You'll learn about local history and culture. You get a bunch of things included in this program which you should definitely check it out - http://bit.ly/2iNwz3P
This trip is from £549, it is a bit pricey, but what you get it is totally worth it, and it's even better if you save up with your mates and go together.
5. YWAM Los Angeles

Last program I would love to apply for in the future is Youth With A Mission Campus. This is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. They offer wide range of programs you can be apart of. They also offer a Discipleship Training in different areas. You can work, study and volunteer.
I'm not going to go into a lot of detail on this one, as it has a lot of information to go through, but want I can say is that it is an amazing community that I would love to be part of and explore, as a christian. I feel like this program is great for some one to one with God and find your calling.
